Configurator Lite - Doors

One of our clients, who produces metal doors, wanted to speed up the design process through design automation. At that time, they were working in SolidWorks, where they had to start drawing each door from scratch. Sometimes they could reuse and modify models from previously designed doors, but they preferred to automate this process further. In collaboration with them, we at Yucon developed a Lite version of our product configurator tailored to their needs. Through a form, they input the parameters the door must meet, including height and width, door type, handle type, and panel distribution. After completing the form, the software generates a 3D model of the door that meets these parameters. Additionally, the software also creates detailed shop drawings of the door.

By making the form as simple as possible, no extensive CAD knowledge is required, meaning that anyone, from the designer to a salesperson, can quickly and easily create a new door. Thanks to the product configurator, the time needed to design a new door is significantly reduced. The designer only needs to review the drawing and, if necessary, add a few comments before these drawings can be sent to the production workshop.
